About The Crazy Cat Lady

Hi! I’m Tara, the crazy cat lady. Thanks for stopping by.

I am a lucky cat owner who has been blessed with nine kitties, seven of which are Tabbies, and four dogs. I absolutely love life with these babies. They are my joy. I am married to a wonderful guy, James. He used to hate cats, but as you can see he has completely changed.

I am a stay at home wife at the moment due to a back injury June 2017. I recently had a lumbar fusion. Life has been hard on us the past year. Right after I injured my back we were moving to a new house when my husband had a horrible heat stroke and we almost lost him.

Lucky for us life always has ups and it’s never all downs. So now we are in a new house and it is being remodeled. It is difficult to do things on my own due to the limits the doctor has placed on me. Overall I am doing fine.

My typical day starts early at around 5:00a.m. I usually get out of bed and when I come out of the bedroom my babies are there to greet me. They normally start running from one end of the house to the other and bang into all kinds of things. They sound like a herd of elephants.

I try to calm them down but that doesn’t always work. Next thing I know one kitty is on my lap, while the two dogs are by my side. Then sometimes I have one behind my head on the couch, and four are laying in my husbands chair. Sometimes I even have one wrapped around my ankle biting me.

After my husband gets ready and leaves for work, the fun begins. Housework with the cats is not ideal! That’s where the blog comes in. Why not write about the good, the bad, and the ugly of having nine cats. This rambunctious crew is enough to make me pull my hair out at times, but then they make it all better by sitting in my lap and loving on me. The purrs are relaxing and an instant gratification moment.

All the hard work and unconditional love pays off. So I hope you find this blog interesting as I am pouring my heart and soul into it. I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to ask questions or introduce yourself in the comments. You can also email me at thetabbyhouse@gmail.com.
